The story of our Trademark Bandana begins in Hamamatsu, Japan, on small vintage shuttle looms that yield a selvedge edge. Each step of this weaving process is slow and methodical, traits that have come to define this fabric-making region for generations.
Once woven and dyed, the bandana travels to Yokohama, where it is hand-printed with what appears to be a simple dot array. But when unfurled, the bandana reveals our iconic brand trademark, and a nod to the tried and true polka dot. After a wash, the bandanas are hung to dry under an open Yokohama sky. Three sides of the bandana are finished with a fine baby hem.
The end result is an emblem of an enduring craft. It's an everyday accessory of unparalleled quality—soft, durable, and imbued with all the character that comes from a uniquely analog process guided by masterful hands.

After the printing and pressing, the bandanas are washed and air-dried outdoors. In stark contrast to industry standard mechanical-drying, this natural drying process yields a softer, more authentic finish.
Once dried, the fabrics are transported to the Nishiwaki area of Hyogo Prefecture, where they are sewn into their final form. Owing to the selvedge above, only three sides require stitching, the fourth edge remaining untouched.
From beginning to end, these bandanas are the product of human hands, following venerable, time-tested methods. They are truly one-of-a-kind items, harking back to an era when craftsmanship had not yet given way to the cold efficiency of the machine.
Use cold water. Wash with similar colors. Use pH-neutral detergent.

Hang dry or tumble dry on low heat.
