Acknowledgements

Since we first set up camp in a canvas wall tent in our shop at 36 White Street in Tribeca, many hands have helped get us where we are now.

I am mindful of our origins and grateful to the people who have built Best Made. Our company’s history and the collective energy that has gone into its making inspire and guide me.

Above all– I am grateful to the former staff of Best Made, to everyone who ever worked with us. The Archive is dedicated to you.

I am also grateful to the non-staff—the freelancers, lawyers, accountants, photographers, and copywriters—and to anyone who participated in our story or appeared in our catalogs, photographs, and videos.

I am grateful to everyone who ever had an actual hand in the making of our products – the blacksmiths, the sewers, the cutters, the leather makers, the machinists, the weavers and knitters, and printmakers. And also to everyone who cared for our finished products, who lovingly packed them up and sent them on their way.

I am grateful to the members of our old team who took that leap of faith and came back to work with me a second time: Laura Bianchi, Michael Laniak, Joyce Nishimura, Ali Bradley, and Rikus Lombard. And likewise, thank you to our longtime contributors and advisors who have returned: Lorry Dudley, Louise Cranfield, Flora Yen, Ken Cerra, Doug Eikenberry, and of course Meagan Bennett.

I am grateful to our most recent team members and everyone who has worked with us this past year, especially Rebecca Geppert, Isabel Marvel, Alexis deBoschnek, Steve Bazant, Veronica Kirgios, Junia Estequi, and David Bozin.

I am grateful to everyone who had a hand in making this website, especially: Paolo Vidali, Akemi Hiatt, Zach Myers, Mat Aguiar, and Ruby Bacanovic at Hidden Gears; Sara Bader, Christian Harder.

I am grateful to our customers, especially those who have reached out with support, spread the word, and been so encouraging in the lead-up to our relaunch. I couldn't have done it without you.
