An ideal and necessary tool for seasoned and novice navigators, this "lensatic" style compass was originally designed for explorers, speleologists, archaeologists, the military, and most famously for foresters who “cruised” timberlands engaged in precision survey work; it is equipped with a lensatic sight which will allow the user to take an exact bearing from the compass while simultaneously aligning it with their destination and or objective. A German-engineered instrument that will outperform and outlast anything on the market. The Cruiser offers considerable advantages over lesser models that are more prone to parallax errors, and faulty readings; the dial system of the Cruiser is dampened to unrivaled precision, ensuring a rapid and exact reading to fractions of a degree. The Cruiser's instruments are housed in a rugged zinc body with a thermo-elastic capsule for durable bubble-free performance, and it is equipped with a clinometer (to measure slope) and bubble level, luminescent bezel and north points, a metal bezel with 0-360° azimuth scale (5° resolution), inch and mm scales, 1/4" thread for tripod attachment, our 28 page handbook, and a cordura carry case with belt loop.
