Story

Shake off the winter doldrums and suit up for snow. This 6-foot downhill wooden toboggan was designed in an exclusive — and extremely limited edition — partnership with Northern Toboggan. Everything is made, assembled, and finished by hand; no two are identical. The red oak boards are carefully bent using a traditional steam process and finished with stainless steel hardware for durability. Sized to fit roughly 3-4 kids (or 2 adults), it features tough synthetic ropes and a Famous Red pad for a bit of extra cheer. A family-owned operation, the founder of Northern Toboggan got his start in 1995 apprenticing under his mentor in Northern Manitoba, Canada, where he learned the centuries-old techniques he still uses today. A thing of beauty, the Best Made Toboggan will hold up to hard use in the field and last for generations to come.

Care
  • Wearing in a toboggan is necessary to get the best performance from it. The process is simple and fun – all you have to do is use it! After your first few winter adventures with your toboggan, the snow will polish the bottom surface of the toboggan and it will begin to glide along with ease!
  • After using your toboggan, gently wipe it down to remove excess snow before storing it until your next winter adventure.
  • The toboggan pad can be removed, wiped down and stored; however, the fabric is weather resistant and can withstand outdoor elements if you choose to leave it attached to your toboggan.
  • In the non-snow seasons, we recommend storing your toboggan and toboggan pad out of direct sunlight.
